After publishing 'Squaddiesaurus,' my poor attempt at a humorous exploration of military slang, I found myself wondering, what next? How could I further share the quirky charm of this project? Naturally, the answer was obvious: create a funny promotional video.

Inspired by the legendary British Army answer phone message from around 2010, my video playfully showcases how overstretched the British Army feels, complete with cheeky digs at the Navy and the RAF. Picture a humorous voicemail greeting, gently mocking the notion that the Army is perpetually busy, unavailable, and politely suggesting callers try the other services, who presumably have far more free time!

This short video perfectly encapsulated the spirit of 'Squaddiesaurus,' reinforcing its comedic, irreverent tone. Filming it brought back fond memories of my time in service and the rivalry with the members of the RAF and the Royal Navy, reminding me, and hopefully others, to appreciate the lighter side of military life.

Like the book itself, the video was never meant to be serious. Instead, it offered another way to share laughs, connect with fellow squaddies, and spread the word about 'Squaddiesaurus' in a genuinely fun way.
