Lance Jack
A Henry Knox Story
Nineteen-year-old Lance Corporal Henry Knox arrives at his first Royal Military Police posting determined to prove that he belongs. Under the guidance of experienced corporal James Webster, he begins learning the realities of policing a garrison town where rank, loyalty and reputation can matter more than the truth.
When a young female soldier accuses a respected Parachute Regiment sergeant of sexual assault, Knox expects the evidence to lead somewhere. Instead, witnesses close ranks, accounts change and the investigation stalls. Then an anonymous letter suggests that the allegation is not an isolated incident.
As the Millennium approaches and Colchester fills with soldiers preparing to celebrate, Knox is drawn deeper into a pattern he can recognise but cannot prove. When violence finally erupts on New Year’s Eve, he must decide how far he is prepared to go—and what he is willing to carry—when the system cannot deliver justice.
